Para este tiempo verbal, conocido en inglés como Past Perfect, se aplican las siguientes reglas gramaticales que caracterizan a sus estructuras afirmativa, negativa y de pregunta.
Estructura de conversación en inglés en pasado perfecto afirmativa
Si la conversación en inglés en pasado perfecto es afirmativa, se usa la forma:
Sujeto (nombre de la persona o sustantivo) + verbo had + verbo en participio + predicado o resto de la oración
En inglés se escribe: Name or noun + verb had + verb in participle + rest of the sentence
Por ejemplo: They had locked the door, but in the end it opened.
Traducción al español: Ellos habían cerrado la puerta, pero al final esta se abrió.
Estructura de conversación en inglés en pasado perfecto negativa
Si la conversación en inglés en pasado perfecto es negativa, se usa la forma:
Sujeto (nombre de la persona o sustantivo) + verbo had + negador not + verbo en participio + predicado o resto de la oración
En inglés se escribe: Name or noun + verb had + not + verb in participle + rest of the sentence
Por ejemplo: She had not trusted him, but his loyalty proved everything.
Traducción al español: Ella no había confiado en él, pero la lealtad de él demostró todo.
